SPEAKERS

Geraldine (Gerri) Molina is a science-led product innovation executive with more than 20 years of experience transforming emerging technologies, formulation science, and consumer insights into category-defining beauty products across prestige skincare, cosmetics, fragrance, hybrid beauty, and personal care.

Most recently, she served as Vice President of Product Development & Innovation at MERIT Beauty, where she led global product innovation and development across all categories. Partnering closely with the founder and executive leadership team, she guided product strategy from concept through commercialization, helping drive the brand’s rapid growth through award-winning launches and category leading innovations.

Previously, as Head of Research & Innovation at Glossier, she built and scaled the company’s global formulation, testing, regulatory, and commercialization capabilities to support international expansion and operational excellence. Earlier, she led Research & Development at Dimensional Merchandising Inc., developing innovative products for leading prestige and mass beauty brands, and began her career as an R&D Chemist at Coty.

Her work has been recognized with industry honors including Allure Best of Beauty, Harper’s Bazaar Beauty Icon, Who What Wear 100 Beauty Awards, NewBeauty Annual Beauty Awards, and the Oprah Beauty O-Wards, and has been featured in Vogue Business, The Cut, The Zoe Report, and Cosmetics Business.

She holds a Master of Science in Cosmetic Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Biochemistry from Rutgers University. She is an active member of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists and Cosmetic Executive Women.

Dr. James (Vince) Gruber is the Director of New Product Development at Vantage Specialties developing new ideas and technologies for personal care, cosmetic and therapeutic industries.  He is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of Cincinnati’s School of Pharmacy working with students in the cosmetics Capstone master’s degree program. Prior to joining Vantage Specialties, Dr. Gruber held positions at Jeen, Botaneco, Sensient, Arch/(Lonza) and Amerchol among others, leading technical teams developing active and functional ingredients.  He is the author of 42 refereed articles including 24 referenced in PubMed and holds 13 granted US Patents and additional published World Patent applications.  He has authored numerous edited articles and book chapters and is an author and co-editor of the book Principals of Polymer Science and Technology in Cosmetics and Personal Care. Dr. Gruber has been a member of the Scientific Committee of the Center for Dermal Research at Rutgers University for many years.  He recently joined the Committee of Scientific Affairs for the Society of Cosmetics Chemists (SCC).  He has been an active member of the NY Society of Cosmetic Chemists, a member the American Chemical Society and the Society of Investigative Dermatology. He is a scientific review editor of numerous journals including the Journal of Cosmetic Science, Cosmetics, Clinical, Cosmetic & Investigational Dermatology, Molecules, Microorganisms¸ Pharmaceutics, the International Journal of Molecular Science and the International Journal of Cosmetic Science.
