Lift Ticket Detail:
The NYSCC discount code will provide 20% off Winter Lift Tickets and Equipment Rentals to Killington Resort and Pico Mountain as well winter tubing and scenic gondola rides at Killington Resort. This code is valid through your departure. Guests need to navigate to Killington.com, select Tickets & Passes or Lessons & Rentals, choose their desired dates and ages and load their shopping cart with their desired products. Click View Cart and in the shopping cart, enter the code in the APPLY DISCOUNT field and hit APPLY. You should see the discount appear in RED. Lessons can be booked in the same transaction, however, there is no discount on lessons.
CODE WILL BE PROVIDED TO YOU ON THE EVENTBRITE CONFIRMATION PAGE – YOU MUST SIGN UP VIA EVENTBRITE TO GET THE DISCOUNT CODE.
Once guests complete their transaction online, they will be emailed an Order Confirmation with a barcode. They can scan that barcode at any one of our kiosks located at the entrance to all our base lodges. (Guests renting skis or snowboards should begin their day at Snowshed Base Lodge or Pico where rentals are located as well as the beginner ski trails.) If guests have been here in the past and purchase tickets in their existing account and also have a current RFID card, their purchase will be added to their card.
For guests who are Renting Equipment or taking lessons, those products will be loaded onto their RFID cards ( that contain their lift tickets) and they will be asked to present their card in the rental shop or on the mountain for the lessons. There is no additional “voucher” for rentals and lessons. Staff can see that a rental/lesson was booked onto each guest’s profile by tapping their RFID card on an RFID reader.
Remember, prices increase online as the arrival date approaches so we encourage you to buy ASAP. There is a limited capacity for the number of times this code can be used and expires after departure.

Vermontology Tour Saturday January 31st:
Off Mountain Activities – Vermontology tour bus for 55 people (maximum capacity) to leave the Inn at the Mountain at 10:30AM Sharp. Signups are first come first serve and space is limited. Please ensure you register via EventBrite ASAP as this event is expected to sell out.
Tour to include a trip to a brewery/cidery for lunch. 10:30AM Departure, arriving back at the mountain by 6PM.

Benefits of using microbiome-friendly shea butter in cosmetic formulations
Shea has a long history of use its moisturizing and skin soothing properties. It has been a staple in the personal care industry due to its rich content of fatty acids and non-triglyceride components that delivering emollience and smoothing benefits to cosmetic formulations. Apart from blooming and crystallization, the use of this plant-based butter also comes with vulnerability to oxidation and rancidity.
In this presentation, the speaker will discuss the unique fatty acid composition of shea butter and how it is optimized to reduce the risk of oxidation and rancidity. The same process optimization certifies the creation of a microbiome-friendly shea butter that supports the natural balance of microorganisms on the skin. These benefits will create new formulation opportunities to reduce the risk of unwanted formulation changes and skin irritation.
Sherry Backman
Sherry brings four decades of experience in technical sales, product development, and formulation expertise across the PCC, Pharma, C.A.S.E. and HI&I industries. Her seasoned track record includes leadership roles at Beiersdorf and Bayer, where she helped innovate Coppertone’s sunscreens, as well as with Revlon, DKSH, and The Yankee Candle Company.
She joined Van Horn, Metz & Co. as the Sales Manager for New England accounts last year.
She is also President of Green Mountain Cosmetics LLC and previously founded Venus of Vermont, Inc., consulting firms primarily serving the chemical industry. Her work has supported hundreds of brands, OEMs, and raw material manufacturers globally.
A patent holder, industry speaker and educator, she also taught formulation and raw material science at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
Sherry is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and member of the SCC, AOCS, ACS, and AIChE, and Treasurer Elect 2026 of the NESCC.
