Membership Eligibility:
Active SCC Membership: Applicants must hold a current, valid membership with the Society of Cosmetic Chemists (SCC). Not an SCC member? JOIN NOW.
Business Tenure: The applicant’s business must be in its formative stages, specifically operating for a period of less than ten (10) years.
Founder Status: Applicants must be recognized as a founder or co-founder of the business.

Owner & Formulation Chemist of ESSNTLS Lab
Arielle Nausieda is a dedicated cosmetic scientist with a passion for elevating industry standards. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Roosevelt University, an MS in Pharmacology and Toxicology from Michigan State University, and an MS in Cosmetic Science from Fairleigh Dickinson University.
With over 8 years of experience in the personal care industry from formulations to product development, Arielle was quickly inspired to establish ESSNTLS Lab. This venture focuses on creating skincare solutions that prioritize essential, effective, and safe ingredients, setting a higher standard in beauty. Beyond her own line, Arielle has expanded her expertise to contract formulation and manufacturing, assisting other brands in developing high-quality products. Her dedication to transparency, education, and social responsibility is evident through initiatives in recycling, diversity empowerment, and community support.
Arielle has been an active participant in NYSCC events throughout the years, engaging with industry leaders, staying at the forefront of cosmetic science advancements, and continuously seeking ways to contribute to the society. She is thrilled to take on a larger role with the NYSCC and looks forward to creating more value within the organization by fostering collaboration, innovation, and opportunities for small businesses in the cosmetic and personal care industry. Her mission is to foster confidence through health, wealth, and knowledge while advocating for integrity and excellence in the cosmetic industry.

Founder/CEO of Spill Essentials & Assistant Professor of Industrial Pharmacy, College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, St. John’s University.
Hyunah Cho is an academician who teaches and indulges in pharmaceutical and cosmeceutical research in higher education as well as a startup founder who strives to turn innovative ideas into a reality. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from Sookmyung Women’s University, MS in Pharmaceutics from Sookmyung Women’s University, MA in Higher Education Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University, and PhD in Pharmaceutics from University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Hyunah has +10 years of experience in educating future pharmacists and training researchers in MS and PhD programs. Her academic research focuses on nanotechnology-based drug delivery systems and formulations (e.g., micelles, nanogels, lipid nanoparticles), diseases-specific delivery of fluorescence imaging agent for optical image-guided surgery, intranasal delivery of nano-formulations for treating neurological disorders, 3D printing of dosage forms and packaging, and cosmeceuticals.
Hyunah started her own company, Spill Essentials, that designs, develops, and offers patent-pending formulations that combine pharmaceutical technology with cosmetics, revolutionizing personal care with innovative waterless products that inspire a future where every choice nurtures both people and the planet.
Hyunah is thrilled to take on this role with the NYSCC and looks forward to creating the resources, education, advocacy, and networking opportunities and fostering the success of the small businesses. Her mission is to create a platform that encourages positive and active collaborations to bring about cross-exchange of information and transfer of knowledge and expertise in a versatile environment in the cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical industries.
