From Friday, January 31st through Sunday, February 2nd, NYSCC, CTSCC, LISCC & NESCC team up for a weekend ski trip to Killington Mountain, Vermont. Skiing/Snowboarding, Food, Networking, a Fermentation/Distillation Chemistry tour, and a great Educational Event to help ensure your company is willing to pay the way are all on the menu.  Please see complete details below for all of the unique options.

Spaces are limited for housing, dinner, and the tour so sign up today!  The Eventbrite form has separate ticket sections for each unique event/component.  Discounted Room Block Available on a first come first serve basis.

Housing/Lodging:

The SCC has secured a room block of 20 rooms at the Mountain Inn Killington for the main group.

There is no requirement to stay with the group!  You can book a stay anywhere else and still participate in the group activities.

We HIGHLY suggest arranging your housing ASAP as primetime ski season is upon us!  Most resorts and AirBnBs expect to SELL OUT in the next 2 weeks.

Rooms from the block are first come first serve and subsidized by the SCC – the hotel has a 2 night stay minimum policy, however EXTREMELY limited 1 night stay options are available.

The room block is for Friday January 31st and Saturday February 1st, however after booking you there are limited rooms for Thursday January 30th available as well.

Jan 31st OFF the Slopes Itinerary:

11:45AM: Meet at the Mountain Inn in Killington, VT Get settled in and ready for an amazing day ahead.
12:30PM: Depart for a day tour with Vermontology Tours around the surrounding towns – buckle up for an exciting adventure!
1:00–4:00PM: Beer tasting and lunch at Long Trail Brewing Company Relax and enjoy a refreshing experience.
4:30–6:00PM: Country Store/Walkabout in town.  Stop by the country store to explore and grab anything you need.
6:15–6:45PM: Return to the Mountain Inn in Killington for Private Distillery Tour. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the distillery’s process.
6:45PM: Cocktail Reception at Still on the Mountain
7:30PM-9:30PM: Key Note Talk on Achieving thermally stable formulations presented by Alyssa Elvambuena, AAK Scientist.

10:00 PM onwards: Pickle Barrel Social – unwind and enjoy a fun social evening with your fellow attendees!

Key Note Speaker: AAK’s Alyssa Elvambuena

Abstract: Plant-based butters can have very different thermal behavior due to their fatty acid and triglyceride compositions. The presentation will briefly review what innate variables and modifications can affect their thermal behavior. We will highlight the difference between melting points and Solid Fat Content curves as analytic tools that can help us to choose the right butter for a particular application.

Alyssa’s Bio: 

Alyssa Elvambuena is a Scientist II with AAK. She joined the company 3 years ago and has been bridging application developments by highlighting AAK’s plant-based ingredient technology in connection with trends in personal care.

Alyssa moved from the Philippines 8 years ago and has worked in multiple facets in the industry: contract manufacturing, skincare, hair care, and body care brands. Applying the experience she learned; Alyssa aims to support the growth of the personal care industry by codeveloping with plant-based ingredients and thoughtful consideration for the environment.

In combination with her time in Research and Development, Alyssa loves to spend her free time in creative and social outlets. She loves to play sports, learn about different cultures, and attend electronic music shows.

Lift Tickets:

LISCC has secured a 20% off Winter Lift Tickets and Equipment Rentals Booking Code which will be available once you sign up on the Eventbrite form. Code is valid to Killington Resort and Pico Mountain as well winter tubing and scenic gondola rides at Killington Resort. This code is valid through your departure. Guests need to navigate to Killington.com, select Tickets & Passes or Lessons & Rentals, choose their desired dates and ages and load their shopping cart with their desired products. Click View Cart and in the shopping cart, enter the code in the APPLY DISCOUNT field and hit APPLY. You should see the discount appear in RED. Lessons can be booked in the same transaction, however, there is no discount on lessons.

Once guests complete their transaction online, they will be emailed an Order Confirmation with a barcode. They can scan that barcode at any one of our kiosks located at the entrance to all our base lodges. (Guests renting skis or snowboards may want to begin their day at Snowshed Base Lodge where rentals are located as well as the beginner ski trails.) If guests have been here in the past and purchase tickets in their existing account and also have a current RFID card, their purchase will be added to their card.

For guests who are Renting Equipment or taking lessons, those products will be loaded onto their RFID cards ( that contain their lift tickets) and they will be asked to present their card in the rental shop or on the mountain for the lessons. There is no additional “voucher” for rentals and lessons. Staff can see that a rental/lesson was booked onto each guest’s profile by tapping their RFID card on an RFID reader.

Remember, prices increase online as the arrival date approaches so please encourage guests to buy ASAP. There is a limited capacity for the # of times this code can be used and expires after departure.
