Maria Sousa is the current NYSCC Social Media & Communications Chair. She is an Associate Scientist at Edgewell Personal Care, where she develops new suncare products. Maria has devoted the last 5 years to her passion for science, creativity, cosmetics, and digital marketing. She is very excited to give Cosmetic Chemistry a voice in the podcast world and connect professionals to discuss the present and future state of the industry. Maria holds a Master of Business and Science in Personal Care Science from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Florida International University.

Meet Xylia Ajose. 2nd semester graduate student, Intern at Cosmosafe Beauty, and ORISE fellow at FDA. She is pursuing her Master’s in Business and Personal Care Science from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. Xylia is a forward-thinking and highly motivated graduate student with knowledge about Cosmetics and Business with experience in Formulation, Research & Development, Project Management, and Brand Communication. She aims to cultivate rapport with individuals to optimize project goals and output, resolve complex problems, and deliver innovative improvement strategies. Xylia utilizes her creative talent to support the cosmetic industry through voluntary service to the SCC.

Meet Regina Klimchuk, day-time Process Development Scientist and night-time Graduate Student. Regina received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology with a minor in Biochemistry at the College of Staten Island. While studying, she was also involved with intensive research on drug delivery, particularly protein-polyelectrolyte complexes for storage of protein drugs. As Regina grew closer to chemistry, she developed a new passion for cosmetic chemistry. She is now a volunteer member in the social media group for the NYSCC. Not only does she continue her admiration in Pharma, but also in the personal care field!
